Athens, Greece
National Gardens, Temple of Zeus, and Olympic Stadium
Nice day with the group! A bunch of us went to the National Gardens because everything's free on Sundays and wandered around. There ended up being a small zoo there with peacocks, chickens, exotic birds, and rabbits which was pretty adorable. It was a sunny, clear day and everyone was loving it. Since it's winter in Greece too we've had some pretty chilly days and we've been ready to break out the shorts and soak up some sun.
Next up was a branch Temple of Zeus where we met up with more people from our group and trekked over to Olympic Stadium. We ended up spending quite a bit of time there just lounging, pretend running, and taking tons of pictures (I get tired of pictures very quickly). By the end we were starving! So of course, 2 euro gyros were the chosen food in Plaka. I always go to the gelato and crepe shop next door and buy my drink and gelato from there and then sit down at the restaurant. They should know that their competitors have cheaper beverages! I always get a beef gyro with fries and smother the fries with vinegar- a new taste I've acquired here in Greece. We were all pretty exhausted so we got back on the metro and went back home. Plus we had to get ready for Greek lessons and a really busy production week! :)
2 euro gyros for LIFE!
